Vincent van Gogh’s Paris series of Sunflowers (oil on canvas, 43.2 cm x 61 cm, now exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) shows the sunflowers laying on the ground, in contrast to the still lives executed in Arles, one year later.
